About Calgary Speed Dating's History
 Calgary Speed Dating was created by Cathy Brewer January 2001. Calgary’s first registered speed dating company, Calgary Speed Dating, has served thousands of people over the last 9 years. We are looking to increase that in the next 9 years.
Does Speed Dating Really Work?
 Yes, it worked for us.
Calgary Speed Dating is responsible for introducing many couples, creating several babies and even worked for a 2nd couple who met at our same event.
How We Met
We (Catherine and Don) met at one of Cathy Brewer's speed dating events in October 2007. We took over Calgary Speed Dating in May of 2008 when Cathy decided to move to B.C.. We chose to keep it going as we wanted everyone to experience the opportunity to meet more single people.
Expanding Your Dating Circles
Don and I sat down one day to brainstorm. We questioned if we could have met through friends, business, colleagues, clubs or our existing social circles. There was no possibility of connections! If we had not met through Calgary Speed Dating, we never would have met.
We chose to take over the company and help other Calgary Singles meet each other who may never have the opportunity to meet without it.
Was it love at first sight?
Oh, sure, just like in the movies!
No, really, we matched with each other and other people as well. However, in only a few short months we knew we had something special and chose exclusivity. We have been together ever since.
While I have seen a few ‘love at first sight’ couples meet at speed dating, the majority are relationships that are built on common ground; meeting in person, spending time and building something wonderful together.
What’s next?
While keeping what works, we do look for new, fun things to try and ways to improve.
